Census Numbers For Minnesota Are In Print E-mail

From Derek Brigham at True North:

Click here for the data from the gov. Rep Sarah Anderson SD43, has been posting numbers on Twitter this morning:  Ideal population per CD is 662991.

CD8 660342,  CD7 625512,  CD6 759478,  CD5 616482, CD4 614624,  CD3 650185,  CD2 732515,  CD1 644787.

Harry Niska adds: By my math, current CD6 will add equivalent of 1.2 Senate Districts and CD2 will add almost 1 (roughly 0.9).

Population loss for SD-45 is -5,749 (-7.3%). All house and senate districts in CD5 show population losses. > View the population changes by Senate District and by House District

What does that mean for redistricting? While the 5th district will need to add areas to increase numbers for balance, Harry Niska wrote at Twitter: "Basically DFL-heavy CDs 4 & 5 are giving 1 Senate & 2 House seats to GOP-heavy Wright & Scott counties."
