Proposed Legislative Redistricting Maps Released

This is how a large chunk of current district 45 would look under the proposed redistricted map of SD36 (click on map for larger view or download a PDF):

If passed, Northern Crystal is separated from New Hope in 45A and joins the rest of Crystal with Robbinsdale in 36B. New Hope would join western Golden Valley & southern Plymouth to 36A. Those in the northern part of Plymouth would become 35B with Maple Grove. Check out all proposed districts here. Media briefings and committee updates can be found at MN House of Representatives. As Kevin Watterson writes:

"Our redistricting bill was introduced following an open, transparent process that to date has included public hearings in three important regional centers, visits with minority groups, community leaders, 13 committee meetings and four months of public input.

"We are exercising due diligence in performing our constitutional duty of creating a fair, representative map for all Minnesotans," said House Redistricting Committee Chair, Sarah Anderson.
